We also offer consulting, advising, strategic tax research , employer withholding tax compliance,  financial accounting & financial statement preparation for businesses. We are also pleased to offer professional bookkeeping, and can set up your general ledger from start to finish including training your entire staff to maintain it - or maintain it ourselves. Essentially, we can  be your complete accounting solution, a resource of outsourcing, and it makes a lot of financial sense to do so. We've designed these solutions over time to keep you on track and in-the-know regarding your complete, big-picture and itemized, detail financial position and to keep you compliant with taxing authorities. Another service we provide is the installation of "point of sale" applications for retail, including both software and hardware to completion. We are willing to travel for these short-term contracts and have experience with a wide platform of these applications; including QuickBooks Point of Sale and many others. This is good  for businesses in their beginning stage and those that simply haven't been gotten around to filing or aren't sure of the entire process. We are prepared to ensure compliance, legal structure and good standing with State and Federal taxing authorities. We know how to avoid double-taxation and we know the best legal structure for your business. Another service that Marchman Accounting proudly offers is the drafting of concise, legally binding contracts with excellence for a plethora of different business agreement needs. Finally, within the framework of the current COVID-19 environment causing mass-layoffs and underemployment, we have begun assisting client filing of unemployment claims. We are familiar with the process in its entirety and will be there to walk you through it every step of the way.We do this to keep our clients moving up and in the right direction fiscally, and we charge only a nominal fee to do so. We also make sure and do our best to work with customers' payment schedules, understanding the times we are in and working with each client to serve them with a "meet in the middle" approach.

Thank you for considering Marchman Accounting for all of your tax, accounting and business needs.

WHAT MAKES M/A DIFFERENT FROM THE NEXT ACCOUNTING FIRM IN MY AREA?

We've said it twice, but we're going to add it a third time with a bit of a background story for illustration purposes. We're here to serve people who do and don't own businesses, we're not simply here to make money. I'll explain why I'm stressing that, as making money is almost always a good thing.

Learning to be a tax preparer in 2016, I had two teachers especially instrumental to me as I was learning the tax game. One was a brilliant and sharp tax mind with lackluster customer service, more introverted than friendly, to put it nicely. The other was a tax expert as well with equivalent decades of experience and cared deeply for people, even freely helping me with my first Schedule C tax return and purchasing for me my first adding machine. He explained when we spoke of money that he could charge customers substantially more than he did if he so chose to based on the market value of the tax returns themselves, but that his business was built around helping people who need help more so than lining his pockets and that he was happy with the income he made through his tax business. I've learned over the years that every job, business or income-producing activity one takes part in there is an overwhelming likelihood that person will deal with other people and so it is important to walk in empathy and with some care and understanding for your cohorts and customers. Ok, that said, we want to be "The Beatles" of accounting firms, we don't want to stagnate nor remain a "lifestyle business" we are seeking rapid growth and eventually going public even. We grow by word of mouth - and the more people we help whilst meeting them where they are and accepting an amicable deal if it is offered (oftentimes when both sides feel slightly cheated, a fair and equitable transaction has taken place) - the sooner we will be able to sufficiently grow into the business and group of businesses we are meant to be. That is, the more we SERVE YOU, the more your TELL YOUR FRIENDS, the more our thing works, collectively. We've had a number wonderful customers over the years and they will just about all tell you we go not just the extra mile, but TEN EXTRA MILES to get the job done for our customers with excellence, efficiency, timeliness, and at a low premium - all with a smile, kind greeting and cup of coffee. That's just the kind of business we are.

THE THINGS WE KNOW

BUILDING A BUSINESS PLAN

How do I write a business plan? Think of a business plan as a road map, spelling out exactly where you plan to go with your business in the coming years - typically including two and five year plans complete with strategies and outcomes. These detail exactly what you're going to do, how you're going to do it, who is going to pay you to do it and how you're going to "keep them coming" along with exactly how much you plan to make undertaking the endeavor. A business plan can be updated as your company and its environment evolves, but think of it as a roving guide map between where you are and where you're headed. A good business plan typically consists of 25-30 pages and is not something to rush. You will operate out of this like a playbook so it's important that you get it right - you'll be basing important decisions on its content.

STRATEGY AND OPERATION

How do you plan to achieve the revenue and profitability goals you've set forth for your business? What happens if you lose a client, or three? Are you prepared to handle labor issues and cash-flow shortages?

Having a very good idea about the strategic-level decision making in your business and its operational day-to-day protocols is tantamount to having a good time in business and enjoying continued and lasting success.

IMPROVING PROCESSES

Much of accounting, at a certain level, involves streamlining or making more efficient, quick, easy and 'flowing' the processes with which we help run businesses as alongside managers and leaders. The sign of an experienced accounting professional is one whom brands his or her self over time as more of an advisor, and less as a number cruncher, from both practical and marketing standpoints, and also in action. It is a wise aspiration and intention of the owner that as his or her firm continues to grow, he or she can step into more of a strategic role and concern themselves  more strategic-level acquisitions and client on-boarding (or growth, in adjacent industries) leaving the bookkeeping, accounting and tax duties to those so skillfully trained and educated to be capable of doing do

What does this have to do with me or my business, and why should I care?

I'm glad you asked, the answer is that this is how you should think as a business owner or leader. The more you can automate, delegate, pass down the line or otherwise obfuscate entirely, freeing up time for more sophisticated or 'strategic' endeavors, the more likely you are to have a structurally sound business running itself as you are growing it - rather than working in it and wondering where your hours are going and why you haven't seen the income rewards you know you're capable of earning and keeping yet. The more you're able to get away from being a "solo-preneur" and see the ability, time and freedom to step into the role of a business person acquiring successful businesses and assets, the faster you're getting further along toward your wildest goals. It's almost as if the moment you master the work that you do at your business, you're to turn it over to somebody else and build up to the next plateau. This is the importance of improving processes; "work yourself out of a job" as they aptly describe it in hourly positions, but make sure you've got a next step before you step off the platform - business plan looking more and more attractive as it comes in handy at this stage.
